Commercial motorcycle riders have been admonished to discountenance rumours making the rounds that the Senator Ademola Adeleke administration in the State has relaxed the law administering them to have identity vests and cards.
The Administrative Secretary, Osun State Office of Transportation, Engr. Bilal Adiat made this disclosure while featuring on a radio program tagged” aabo loju popo” vented on OSBC Fm in Osogbo, Orionframe reports.
He said the current administration recognizes the significance of relating every marketable motorcycle rider in the State as means of icing the security of both those who mount it as well the riders themselves, prompting them to stop the false narrative.
Engr. Adiat said with the aid of the identity vests and cards, the State Government through the Office Of Transportation, has been suitable to get the proper records and bio-data of every marketable motorcycle driver in Osun, commodity which he said has made their job easier.
Opining further on the significance of the identity vests and cards on the drivers of marketable motorcycle in the State, Engr. Adiat said the move has helped security agencies, especially the police, to track culprits using motorcycle to perpetrate crime across the State.
He said the Senator Ademola Adeleke government, since supposition of office, has shown unknown zeal, courage and commitment to help the Office of Transportation in icing the State is safe for both users and drivers likewise.
In his words,” the new government has not relaxed the law asking marketable motorcycle riders in Osun State to get their identity vests and cards as being hawked around in some quarters.
” Mr Governor knows that the identity vests and cards is for the safety of both the rider and those who use motorcycle as a means of moving from point A to point B, the vests are reflective at night which also help to reduce accidents, it’s a must-have, they must each secure it”, he emphasized.
