The Nigerian Civil society under the name Anti-Corruption Advocacy have demanded investigation of former deputy governor of Lagos state Mrs. Orelope Adejoke Adefulire, as head of SDGs- Nigeria between 2016-2023.
Addressing the World Press Conference in Abuja, the National Chairman of the organization Dr.Samson Adebayo described SDGs under Mrs. Orelope as most corrupt agency of the federal government during President Mohammadu Buhari.
Speaking further, He accused President Bola Tinubu of double-standard in fighting against corruption.
“It is unfortunate that the integrity of this government to fight canker-worm called corruption as President Bola Tinubu have displayed double-standard in curtail corruption in our society, while Emefiele the former CBN was in detention for offence never proved.”
Mrs. Orelope, the former SDGs boss, was left of hook because she is a kinsman of the President and nothing can happen to her, this have put integrity of Tinubu administration to fighting corruption in doubt” said, Dr. Samson Adebayo.
The Organization accused Orelope of payment without job executed, particularly in the name of constituency projects by the National Assembly.The organization however called for matching projects with funds allocated to SDGs during the reigns of Mrs. Adejoke Adefulire Orelope, to determine the magnitude of corruption under her, “If government of President Tinubu refuses to take action on this very issue, ‘we shall begin peaceful protest’ to bring her to book, the Organization submitted.
