Osun Amotekun Arrests Ritualists Who Exhume Corpses From Graves


The Osun State Security Network Agency (Amotekun Corps), says it has arrested three suspected members of a gang that specialises in exhuming corpses and removing their parts for rituals 


In a statement on Thursday, the Osun State Amotekun spokesperson, Adeniyi Adeshola Brown, said, suspects, Kamilu Kehinde,43yrs mechanic, Akeem Hamzat,56yrs driver by profession and Wakeel Baka, an herbalist were all arrested following intelligence received by the Operatives of Iwo Command of the Corps 


On interrogation,the suspects made confessional statements that they were into the business of exhuming corpses from their graves; which they then sell to buyers who need them for money making rituals; and also that , Akeem Hamzat was not actually one of them, but rather one Ogun , who is now at large with the exhumed body part.



The spokesperson however disclosed that , The Corps Commander, Osun State Security Network Agency, Brig. Gen. Bashir Abiodun Adewinmbi (Rtd), has directed that the suspects be transferred to the necessary department of the Nigerian Police Force for discreet investigation and possible prosecution.


He further stated that, The Corps Commander, encourages residents of the state to be more security conscious and always ensure ,that the report all suspicious activities to the Osun Amotekun.


He concluded by saying " When you see something,Please always say something"
