Imo Elders and Ajaero meet over dispute between NLC leadership and state government



The meeting took place as the nationwide strike declared by the NLC leadership and the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) continues into its second day. .


Members of the Imo Council of Elders have paid a scheduled visit to the Chairman of the Nigeria Labor Congress (NLC), Joe Ajaero, in Abuja to intervene in the ongoing conflict between the state government and the NLC.



The nationwide strike called by the NLC and the Nigeria Trade Union Congress (TUC) leadership continued for a second day.


The Chairman of the Imo State Council of Elders, Cletus Iluomuanya, who arrived from Abuja, while speaking with newsmen in Owerri, the Imo State capital, described the meeting with Ajaero as a success.


Reacting to the ongoing strike, he said there is light at the end of the tunnel, stressing that Ajaero is a son of Imo and will certainly respect Imo elders.
